Tahiyyatul Masjid
Sahih Bukhari Chapter 40, Hadith No.279
Narrated Abu Qatada As-Sulami R.A : Allah`s Messenger PBUH said, "if anyone of you enters a mosque, he should pray two rakaat before sitting."
From this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad PBUH encourages us to perform two rakaat prayer before sitting that is Tahiyyatul Masjid prayer. It is not obligatory, but highly recommended.
